We offer a range of customized junk removal and hauling services in our local area of Charlottesville Virginia. We treat each job uniquely and I am confident that we can remove most likely anything you have. We don’t remove hazardous waste materials and some oversized items.

Getting started is simple. Call or text us at 434-962-6474. Tell us a little bit about what you are wanting to have removed or moved, and in what time frame. Sharing your location can be helpful, such as downtown Charlottesville, or Crozet area. I will reply with a text or call to get more details and arrange an on-site estimate. If you agree with the price, we usually can remove or move it right then. Larger jobs may require more advance scheduling for completion.

We price each job based on the complexity for our team to remove it and the cost of the disposal. One small items starts at $55 and two items start at $125, based on size, and complexity to remove. We aim to provide a fair price for our efforts and one that helps you be junk free!

Yes. We can handle large and bulky items. If something is especially heavy or awkward, let us know ahead of time so we can bring the right help and equipment.

Yes. If you can’t be there, we can arrange access ahead of time. We can also send photos before and after the work. We’ll agree on the estimate and access details first.

We sort items to see what can be donated, recycled, or disposed of responsibly. If something is still usable, we try to keep it out of the landfill. All of our donations remain local so the community benefits.

Yes. We handle construction debris such as wood, drywall, pallets, and similar materials. Hazardous materials are not mixed in with regular debris and need to be handled through the appropriate disposal process. Contact us with your specifics so we can determine whether we can remove and dispose of them safely. We are not able to remove explosives, medical waste, radioactive waste, or ammunition.

We often schedule service within 24 to 48 hours, and sometimes sooner depending on the load and location. Let us know what you have and where you’re located, and we’ll let you know how soon we can arrive.

We take most non-hazardous items, including furniture, appliances, yard debris, construction leftovers, and other unwanted belongings. Unwanted belongings include everything from boxes in your garage and attic and basement, clothing and household accessories and yard and garden supplies and equipment and more. If you’re not sure about something, send me a photo or description and I’ll let you know.

Boxing your junk items is recommended, as it will reduce the cost of the job. If you are unable to box or bag your items, consider putting them in large, clean garbage can. If you require boxing or containment services, we’ll include that in the cost of the job.

Pricing is primarily based on volume—essentially how much space your items take up in the truck. Extremely heavy objects such as large furniture, or materials such as concrete or dirt may affect the price. I’ll explain the estimate before starting. The weight of materials that must go to our local landfill are charged by the pound, and therefore will be added into the estimate.

Yes. If you can authorize access, we can handle the removal and disposal. If the facility requires paperwork, send it over and we can take care of it. You can be onsite during the removal, or we can complete the job without you. Your choice.

That’s no problem. Just give us a heads-up so we plan for the right equipment and extra time. Tight stairways and narrow access can be handled with the proper planning.

Yes, we take mattresses and box springs. A disposal fee may apply depending on the item, and we’ll let you know up front. Photos or approximate dimensions are helpful when we are preparing an estimate. Also let us know the amount of stairs and location of the mattress. Mattresses have to go to the landfill based on state law.

Yes, we take refrigerators. There is an added fee to dispose of the refrigerant inside your appliance that is added to the estimate.

Yes, we handle yard waste and storm debris. For a large cleanup, we’ll scope the job first so we can bring the appropriate equipment.

No. I don’t take hazardous materials such as motor oil, or chemicals. For household paint, please call ahead and we will let you know if we can remove it at that time. If you’re unsure whether an item is hazardous, send me a photo or description and we’ll let you know.

Yes, we help with eviction clean outs, including removing furniture, household belongings, and other non-hazardous items. I We work with property owners or property managers and can often handle the clean out even if you’re not able to be there.

There’s no license for junk removal or light local moving in the state of Virginia. We are insured for liability when on your property.

Haulin’ Assets LLC is a small local Charlottesville business run by K Thomas Lawson who provides the junk hauling and light local moving services. He’s a former certified arborist—so ask any questions about trees, and he’s a Marine. He’s also a well rounded dad and grandfather who has a knack for getting anything removed or moved carefully.
